More Fun Films

If you didn't get to see the fun films, or want to watch them again, here's your chance! We'll repeat the Fun Film program for those who missed it and add a couple others to the mix. There is a singing car, a boy who won't let his feet touch the ground, and girl who tests the five second rule.

Themes: friendship, identity, humour, identity, and imagination

This program screens as part of SUNDAY FUN DAY!

Cars perform a song-and-dance number while the planet slides toward ruin.

Five Second Rule

A girl is walking down the street eating a cookie. She drops the cookie, which gets attacked by germs around it. But antibodies come out from the saliva on the cookie to protect it. While they are fighting, the girl picks up the cookie and eats it. Will she get sick from the germs?

If I Was God…

What would you do if you were 12 and suddenly found yourself charged with God-like powers? Would you use them for good? For bad? Perhaps a little of both? For one Grade 7 boy whose mind starts to wander while dissecting a frog in Biology class, the possibilities seem endless. He will have the power to toy with life and death, to create monsters who can punish those who torment him daily (in particular, Augie, who sits in the back row), and, more importantly, to create that one perfect day with Lily, the love of his 12-year-old life.

Lila is a dreamy girl who can’t resign to accept reality as flat as she perceives it. Hence she uses her imagination and her skills to modify it, to somehow “patch it up,” creating drawings that complete whatever she thinks it is missing.

Mr. Violet

Мr. Violet lives on a mug in a busy cafe. His life is boring and full of lonely feelings, until the time when the presence of another mug changes his life.

The Ghost of Grandpa Tong

When Zoe discovers that she is the only one who can see the ghost of her best friend’s grandpa, she begins to understand the importance of culture, tradition, and sharing cookies with the ones you love.

The Story of Percival Pilts

While playing on stilts as a child, Percival Pilts declares that he'll never again let his feet touch the ground! He stays true to his word and is compelled ever higher; he builds his stilts so tall that he no longer fits into normal society.

Very Lonely Cock

A day starts out like any other for a hen, but soon, things begin to go haywire in the barnyard.

In Russian with English subtitles, though it's mostly nonverbal.
